Understand CQC ratings
Why dentists are inspected but not rated
CQC does not rate every type of service. Dental practices can be registered and inspected while still showing as not rated.

Not rated is normal for dentists
Many dental profiles show as not rated because CQC does not have the legal power to rate some services, including dentists. This does not mean the practice was ignored.
CQC can still inspect the service, publish a report and record whether regulations were met.
What to read instead
Look for the inspection date, the report findings and whether CQC says regulations were met. Older reports may use different labels, such as no action or improvements required.
Why recent reports matter
A recent inspection report gives a fresher view of the practice than an old profile page. That is why Dentist List marks recently inspected practices.
